If the climate can change so can we
It’s a fact. Scientists the whole world over now agree: Earth’s climate is changing, and the changes will have far-reaching consequences for people, places, and wildlife, and for the natural clocks, cycles and relationships that underpin life on Earth. Ours included.
That’s a worry. But it’s not unstoppable. There are steps we can all take, both to reduce the scale of change and to make the changes more tolerable. And many of the steps can happen in ordinary homes, backyards, neighbourhoods or workplaces.
This site is all about climate-friendly living and the local actions that will help us to create a South West that is low on carbon emissions AND rich in wildlife.
We'd like to say thank you to everyone who took part in Climate Friendly Fortnight, and especially to our sponsors, the Chelsea Building Society, and Gloucestershire and Somerset County Councils.
The South West Wildlife Trusts are now working to support community climate change action in each county, with generous support from The Co-op. For more on county workshops, and how you can get involved, please see the latest blog.
